Programs & Services

The primary services and programs of Hookers for Jesus are mission driven and are designed to minister healing and restoration of individuals and families affected by sexual abuse and trauma linked to professional and consumer involvement in the sex industry. In addition to the primary services of Rescue (Outreach), Redeem (Transitional Assistance), and Prevent (Community Awareness) being developed by the organization, operational programs include Marketing and Funding Development.

Rescue • Redeem • Prevent

Although the ministry is primarily focused on assisting women and young girls, we also provide support for men seeking to leave the sex industry. This support is offered through transitional assistance and service referrals. All discipleship and spiritual counseling for men is offered on a referral basis and provided through pastoral support and men of faith working as volunteers with the ministry.

Most sex industry ministries nationwide generally
focus exclusively or primarily on reaching out to exotic dancers working in local strip clubs. While effective and altruistic in their nature, the majority of our ministry efforts include providing human services programming, in addition to evangelistic outreach and individual discipleship for all sex workers, regardless of the specific area of involvement. These program priorities include offering case management services, criminal justice support; juvenile offender mentorship; community awareness seminars and workshops; individual health and wellness programs; skills assessment, retraining, and career development assistance; and human services programming.

Prison Ministry Outreach

Hookers for Jesus is committed to working closely in support of prison chaplaincy and assisting the work of the church behind bars. We are currently working with the Southwest Prison Ministries team with founder Don Moberger through an affiliation with The Church at South Las Vegas and Pastor Benny Perez in effort to reach out to women incarcerated in the Clark County Detention Center. During our first five years of operation, our outreach plans include personal visitation, mentoring, in-prison seminars, Bible studies, special cultural events, provision of literature for libraries, and general projects designed to improve the quality of life in prison.

Kindred Spirits Support Project - KISS Project

In addition to ministering in the Clark County Detention Center, we are currently working with the Juvenile Public Defender’s Office and the Family Court specializing in providing services for underage prostitutes. Sadly, in 2007 alone, over 400 children were found working as prostitutes in Las Vegas during a single month. It has been reported that many girls are as young as 12 years old when they turn their first trick. Our focus includes intervention, as well as enjoying times of weekly fellowship and teaching through the Girls Circle and Sister to Sister programs.

Hookers for Jesus has received honor with the court system and has been encouraged to speak into the lives of the young women that have been arrested or charged with prostitution and are participating in the Girls Circle program. The first week that we participated, two young 15 year old girls gave their lives to the Lord and are now in Christian fellowship in The Movement Youth program at The Church at South Las Vegas on a weekly basis. Each subsequent week thereafter, the numbers of participants and positive responses leading to life changes continue to increase.

We are developing a mentorship program to assist in bringing the Girls Circle Association curriculum full circle in the spiritual development of the lives of these young women. This mentorship program is being developed for young women ages 12-17 years of age, based on Titus 2:3-5. This is a ministry that intentionally develops friendships between young girls and women of different generations. Women invest in the lives of each young girl through encouragement, guidance, listening, laughing and loving. The goal is to form strong and lasting relationships that are a source of support, growth and strength.

The vision of the ministry is to teach former and transitioning teen prostitutes to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential. Our goal is a community in which every youth experiences a nurturing one-to-one relationship and support through the church. In turn, this establishes positive character traits and increases the young woman’s ability to make responsible decisions as involved members of our community.

In addition to the Girls Circle program, it is our desire to assist in establishing a transitional home for underage girls seeking to leave the sex industry. To that end, we are working with the family court system, the Honorable Judge William Voy, and PSEC Nevada (Protecting Sexually Exploited Children) to establish a safe house for juvenile prostitutes in the state of Nevada as an alternative choice to incarcerating juveniles in detention centers and the local jail system, which only leads to further victimization.

Community Awareness

Hookers for Jesus provides a variety of services to individual clients and organizations throughout the United States and worldwide through speaking and participation in public debates, news conferences, public school assemblies, educational trade shows, retreats and seminars, adult entertainment conventions, and county and statewide festivals and fairs. Our communications efforts include speaking opportunities and interviews provided through local, national, and international print publications, as well as radio and television broadcasts.

Overall, we are working to raise the awareness of local, national, and international civic and faith communities with educational resources outlining the harmful effects of pornography and involvement as professionals in and consumers of the sex industry. Our program focus is to educate and equip the church to minister recovery and healing to lives already sexually broken by pornography, sexual addiction, and victimization.

During the first five years of operation, our efforts include developing an extensive network of educational ministry opportunities established through the secular and faith community, schools, and civic clubs. During this time, we will write, produce, and publish, as well as compile and develop a comprehensive library and resource center to increase awareness and meet the educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of the sexually broken. Our message of awareness is one of grace and healing for both the victims and offenders caught in the trap of sexual abuse and addiction to pornography.

Financial Support Network (FISHNet Fund)

Our networking efforts include developing opportunities nationwide to meet the practical and spiritual needs of men and women seeking to transition out of the sex industry. A vital part of our labors includes developing a monetary fund to support men and women seeking to be set free from the bondage of the sex industry. We are developing a rehabilitation program to provide financial support during the transitional period. Additionally, we have developed requirements and criteria for participation that will encourage completion of the program, ensuring self-sufficiency in the years to come.

Paraclete Support Network

We are providing case management services and developing an extensive support network to help anyone who wants to leave the adult entertainment industry. It is our desire to minister to the heart of those caught up in this business. There is an urgent need to broaden a local assistance program for victims of pornography and sexual abuse — a coordinated means by which a victim can reach out confidentially and learn how to begin putting his or her life back together. In assisting the victims of pornography, we recognize the abuses and addictions as mere manifestations of deeper issues. Our focus is on restoration and redemption rather than condemnation.

Hookers for Jesus is conducting a comprehensive study and international research of faith-based ministries and organizations available to help men, women, and children through healing and transitioning out of the sex industry. First, we will identify national and international organizaions, agencies, and individuals who are able to help. Second, we will link these services to a common database and referral network. Third, we will create a toll-free warm line where callers will be linked to an effective referral and counseling service. Fourth, we will develop a comprehensive program to assist persons who want to leave the adult entertainment industry by offering skills assessment, employment retraining, and career counseling services. Finally, we will launch a public information campaign so this Paraclete Support Network is well known in the state of Nevada and in strategic areas throughout the country and around the world.

Hookers for Jesus will develop and maintain the Paraclete Support Network as a “one-stop” center, working to provide vital services at every level. A central place to access information and literature on local and community services. As well, the network will link survivors with shelters, hospitals, toll-free warm line, police, and community services. Development and utilization of research and analysis skills on the part of executive staff is critical. Staff must be able to recognize the problem, and then provide accurate referrals. The network of individuals, ministries, and organizations that we are cultivating are those that are able to provide assistance and meet practical and spiritual needs in the following resource areas.
  • Case Management and Support
  • Food and Clothing Assistance
  • Transitional Housing
  • Legal Assistance and Referrals
  • Career Counseling
  • Education and Skills Training
  • Unplanned Pregnancy Counseling
  • Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation (referrals)
  • Mental Health Counseling (referrals)
  • Spiritual Counseling and Mentoring
  • Encouragement, Support, and Prayer
  • Healing and Restoration Workshops
Our purpose is to build and maintain a sense of community while reaching out and loving others as Christ would love. It is our desire to network with like-minded organizatons to minister to the tender hearts and real hurts of the men, women, and children affected by sexual trauma and violence associated with the sex industry.
