The Walter Hoving Home is a nonprofit, faith-based rehabilitation center serving women 18 years and older who have been involved in prostitution and affected by other life-controlling problems. Hookers for Jesus and Annie Lobért Ministries has developed a professional and ministry alignment with this organization to assist women throughout the United States who desire to leave the sex industry. The Walter Hoving Home has become a refuge and sanctuary of healing and grace for hundreds of women over the years. We are grateful to be partnering with them in ministry.

The center was begun in 1967 by John Benton and his wife, Elsie, in New York and is named for the late Walter Hoving, former chairman of Tiffany & Co., who helped raise money to buy the first facility in Garrison, New York which overlooks the Hudson River and West Point, 50 miles north of New York City.

The Walter Hoving Home expanded to the west coast in 1985 and opened a facility in Pasadena, California, located in the historic Mira Monte Hotel at 127 South El Molino Avenue. Both homes have the capacity to provide care for 60 women. In 2006, a home was opened in Las Vegas, where they are able to meet the needs of eight women.

For more than 40 years, John and Elsie Benton have spent many days and nights on the streets of New York and Los Angeles and in the prisons and jails, reaching out to prostitutes and drug addicts. To each desperate young woman, they have extended an invitation to come home to a place of hope and healing. It is an invitation that has led to dramatically changed lives and hope-filled futures for hundreds of women.

More than 800 women have successfully completed the program. The Home receives more than 500 referrals from across the country each year. These referrals come from jails, institutions, Teen Challenge Centers, and off the streets.

The one-year residential program is geared to helping young women rebuild their broken lives in an atmosphere of warmth, trust, support, discipline and love. Since 1967, hundreds of young women have found new life and hope at the Walter Hoving Home. The Home is nationally recognized for the high cure rate among the alcoholic and drug-addicted women who complete its spiritually-oriented rehabilitation program. Over 90 percent of those who come to the Home as alcoholics, drug addicts and prostitutes and complete the program have found a happy, healthy way of living.

Please pray with us for the Lord's direction. When the Lord opens doors, He also provides the means.
